Often shortened to Top Model (ANTM) was first hoisted and created by a veteran television, former super model and current talk show host. The UPN overrode the show in the first “cycle” (May 2003) and was one of the highest rated shows. The opening theme is normally produced by Roodney and done by Tyra banks.

This show takes as from 9-13 episodes comprising of ten to 14 heads. Elimination is done at every given stage and sometimes more than one contestant is forced to quit the race. Similarly each episode covers the event of at least a week consisting of ten models, but for the oversees, a duration of three to four days for each episodes is given.

Photo shoot, features of fashion challenge, critic and performance are keenly looked at by the judging panel which is led by Tyra banks. The existing judging panel includes: Alexander J, (running coach), Paulina Porizkova and Nigel Barker. Previous panel were icon Twiggy, Janice Dickson, Nole Marin, Kimora Lee Simmons, Beau Quillan and Eric Nicholson.

In any show an additional judge is allowed in the panel, he takes care of the press interviews or selling commercial product or even visit run away shows oversees. The first thing done to contestants is training. They are coached in various activities like run away walking, acting or on applying make ups that fashion a certain occasion.

A winner is then chosen by a judge. Then given fabulous prizes which includes an advantage of the next photo shoot. Winners have the choice of sharing the benefits, otherwise with a certain number of contestants.

During judging episode, pre evaluation task is done where keen interest is given on the following areas; run away walking, posing, selling products or make up. Photos of each contestant is taken and evaluated by the judges then all the contestants leave the room. As the word “congratulations” fills the air, Tyra reveals the entire contestant that have merited then gives one more chance to one of the last two who will not have received their photos.

When three contestants remain, they are allowed to compete in one last photo shoot and the weaker contestant is eliminated. With two remaining, they compete in the final runway show. This is done in front of the judges and live audience and the final whistle is blown where the judges declare the winner.
